The Minnesota Free-mo Modelers are model railroad enthusiasts who construct, operate and display HO (1:87 scale) and N (1:160 scale) modular model railroad at different locations in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota.
Our modules conform to the Free-mo standard, which is rapidly gaining popularity in the U.S. and Canada. Free-mo modules are “free” to take on many shapes and sizes, and they emphasize prototypical operations and realistic scenery. Check out the Beginner’s Guide. It explains more about what Free-mo is all about.
We’ve been operating since July 2004. Individual members build their own small or large modules suiting their own interests. Membership is open to anyone who is interested in the Free-mo concept. We invite you to help us build a bigger railroad!
